Kira is the son of lower nobility and graduated at the top of his class during the entrance exams for the shinigami academy along with Abarai Renji and Hinamori Momo. But since he graduated, there has been a very large shift in character, from his appearance to his innermost thinking. Kira has blond hair that is slightly longer in the front. In his days at the academy, one can see that these bangs are grouped on the left side and come down to his eye. He has since grown his hair so that the back of his hair grows out and parts into two 'horns' while the left part bows over and covers his whole left side of his face down to the chin, leaving one with the sense that he is half-blind to something. This can refer to the fact that he 'blindly' follows Gin no matter what it takes, even if it means betraying friends (canon examples of this include when he raised his sword to defend Gin from Hinamori, one of his closest friends and when he followed Gin's orders even after he found out about his captain's betrayal). It also lends more to the notion that Kira is more mysterious and harder to read than his younger and more boisterous counterpart.

Kira seems to have aged tremendously between the time of his training and his advancement to becoming a vice captain, especially compared to his comrades like Renji, Hinamori, and even Hisagi, who barely changed at all. Kira has a haggard look most of the time now, which conflicts with his younger self who was much more cheerful, confident, and friendly with others (and obviously popular with the girls despite the fact that he is quite a scaredy cat and a pushover). Some of this may be taken as proof that Gin has worn Kira down through time, but it is also a reflection of the stress that comes from his stalwart devotion to those he cares about, his duties, his position, and the conflicts of choice that he faces. He is dedicated to the point of fault; his loyalty showing no boundaries. In canon, his loyalty to Gin is apparent as described above, and his loyalty to others also practically drives him to insanity after he is arrested for fighting within the Seireitei with Hinamori. He calls himself a 'monster' for raising his sword against Hinamori and there are hints - a broken chair, deep scratches in the walls, and even Kira himself in a strait jacket-like restraint - that the stress and frustration is more than his mind can properly handle. From this, it is clear that Kira is not exactly a mindless puppet of Gin. Kira still has morals and a strong attachment to those he cares about, and he does his best to make sure that they do not get hurt. Still, Kira's devotion to Gin seems most unbreakable of all.Despite Gin's betrayal, Kira is still upset when Gin disappears, drinking himself into a stupor with Matsumoto and even says "I've lost someone irreplaceable to me.", making it clear just how strongly he admires Gin.

Story Thus far in roleplay...
Ichimaru Gin's leave of Soul Society tore open more than just the sky. It has torn down Kira Izuru's whole world. The man he had served unquestionably had not only betrayed him, but had lied to him about the wellbeing of one of his closest friends whom he once had great affection for. It also had landed the blond into the inquisitor's chair. Aside from a few minor charges, the Gotei 13 found him to be innocent of treachery. He was free to wander but not without people whispering behind his back.

At first, Izuru was angry. He jeered at Gin, mocking him with his drinking partner Matsumoto Rangiku. But as the days went on, the emptiness of the office wore on Izuru. The drinking habit grew and more often than not, he drank himself into a stupor on a daily basis to fill in the dark void inside of him. He knows that things will never be the same and yet he longs for the times that he stood by his captain's side.

When Ichimaru Gin suddenly appears one night after he had been drinking, it was more than Izuru could fight. He retook his oath of loyalty to Gin and followed the man into Hueco Mundo, making him the fourth traitor of Soul Society.

But the blond has still not found peace with himself in the land of Hollows. He cannot step beyond his prejudice of Hollows and Arrancar and thus has made quite a few enemies - Grimmjow Jeager Jaques being the most prominent. With his status and even his purpose unclear at times, Kira Izuru finds comfort only in his captain's twisted words that snare him just as much as his arms. He has fallen into his old footsteps, just as much as before if not deeper along with a new sense of superiority above the Hollow-based comrades. This proves to be quite troublesome often.

Blue eyes vs. brown...I started off with blue not knowing Kubo'd color his eyes brown so he's stuck with it. Izuru vs Iduru...personal preference. Fandom knows Izuru. :D;
